“Great beds, quiet.”

I actually slept, which is something I rarely do at a hotel. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. The staff was friendly, but not overly helpful. When we asked about a pizza place that would deliver to the hotel they didn't have much to offer. No menus, only one suggestion and that was a chain pizza restaurant. Most hotels we stay at have more information about local restaurants and even have menus for those restaurants. I would stay here again.

“This is not like the old Holiday Inns!”

I was on a business trip and needed a "cheap" place for the night. I thought this was going to be fine...like the other times but I was in for a nice surprise. While hard to find at first, it was worth the trouble. My room was ready and I went to it to find a surprise. The room was amazing! It had a couch, room, and was very clean. I could not get over the room as it was well appointed and comfortable. One other nice item was the quiet. Sometimes Holiday Inns are so busy that the doors opening and closing and the traffic makes for a long night. However, this one was so quiet that I was able to rest on a wonderful bed.
I don't know if all the Holiday Inns are being revamped but this one is good.
Room Tip: Ask for those on the upper levels away from the activities for better rest. All the rooms have wifi and I did not notice a bad spot in the room. The AC runs well (after one figures it out).

Very clean and new. Not a pretty part of town, but it is a very nice highway hotel. I would definitely book there again if I had to find a place to stay that was on the highway in Topeka. Lawrence is about 20 min drive from there.

"Great hotel in an accessible location"

A friendly receptionist greeted me and provided me with all information I needed. Following my question about fitness amenities, he said the gym is open 24/7 and the swimming pool is open most hours also. The fitness room is great and allows for a thorough workout. The swimming pool isn't particularly big, but accessible and clean. The rooms are spacious and very clean. My king bed was on the soft side (I prefer hard mattresses), but I slept like a baby which is not a given for me when it comes to nights spent in hotels. It is very easy to get to the hotel. I like the fact that a very large Dillon's is within walking distance providing most meal choices that you might miss due to its location on the very north side of town. Overall, I loved it and will definitely go there again.

Nice, clean, new hotel with friendly staff. Room was very nice. It's on the north side of town, but very easy to get to and from.

"Great Hotel/ Industrial location"

The hotel and all it amenities were wonderful. The neighborhood is industrial with limited retail. We were there to sleep and enjoy the pool, so it worked for us. No additional noise, in fact, quite quiet at night even though it faces a highway.

“excellent place to stay”

Very clean hotel with very friendly staff. Kids and parents had a great time in pool. would recommend this hotel to others.
Area recommendations
Topeka zoo, fun family trip. Bring a picnic lunch though, very long cafe wait.

“Something Different”

A new hotel with a totally different layout than any I have seen. Roomy, comfortable, and a great value. It is hard to find, however, but worth getting off the main road.

“Wow! One of the nicest hotels I've stayed in!”

This Holiday Inn Express is very new, very well built (granite everywhere); very well designed, the room, pool & workout room is A+. Will definitely stay here again!
This hotel is in a very new strip, BBQ restaurant in front & residential surrounds it on freeway. Only difficulty it wasn't easy finding this hotel since we're coming from I-35.

If all Holiday Inn are like this one, I won't be staying anywhere else!

“Nice hotel, but out of the way”

This was a nice property as it was brand new. Only bad part was if you are just staying here on an overnight through Topeka it is hard to find. Plus is a very value oriented gas station across the street. Always a bonus to find cheap gas on vacation!

“New, but not very nice”

The hotel was convenient when arriving from the north end of town, and very close to the main street through the center of town.
We were a bit dismayed that Priority Club members did not receive any perks, and we also did not get the first floor room we had requested.
We had a suite, but it was the smallest suite we had ever stayed in. ( most 2 Queen rooms we have stayed in were larger than this room ) The ceilings were extra tall which was totally unnecessary, and the rooms were too small. The bathroom was also small and the door opened in, which made it impossible for 2 people to be in the room at the same time.
Room temp. was impossible to adjust and the fan was very noisy.
Whatever you do Stay Away From The Pool!!!! It was extremely overchlorinated!! After a few minutes my family's eyes were burning so badly we had to leave and they hurt most of the night. There were several people who began coughing uncontrolably after swimming a few minutes. It was a horrible experience and a real letdown not to be able to enjoy the pool. The next morning you could smell a strong chlorine odor all the way down the hall.
The breakfast was the worst we've ever had at a Holiday Inn Express!! Usually, they're very good, but this was an exception. The eggs looked powdered and very unappetizing, biscuits were dry, gravy flavorless, cinnamon rolls were stale, muffins way too sweet. The bacon was unrecognizable. It was paper thin and the fat and meat were all the same color and see-thru. We also had to wait for hot items to even be brought out.
The only good thing about the place was that it was solidly built and very quiet.

“Good night's stay”

This hotel is off the beaten path, but provided a good night's rest. The room was clean and the desk clerk was friendly. The only drawback was the fact that breakfast doesn't start until 7:00 on the weekends, compared to 6:00 during the week. Had I been aware of this, I might have stayed somewhere else as we needed to be on the road by 7.

“Nice Hotel”

Stayed here with husband & 2 kids. We had a double Queen room. Since the hotel is only around 1 year old, everything was nice & new. The carpet even still smelled new in the hallways. No complaints about the room. The breakfast is very simple: scrambled eggs, biscuits, gravy, sausage, pancake maker, yogurt, cereal. The pool was alright. I had read reviews about a very strong chlorine smell & also the water being super chlorinated. Yes, I did smell the chlorine as soon as I walked into the lobby, but that's likely b/c the pool is just right there. My kids didn't complain about their eyes burning from the chlorine. We only stayed one night. I'd stay here again for a short visit.

“Great Hotel”

great location near a variety of restaurants and shopping. Hotel staff was professional and accomodating. Although we didn't use the pool, it looked inviting and well maintained. The complimentary breakfast was complete and good ~ staff kept the tables cleared and clean.

“Great hotel”

I have stayed here a couple times for work and a couple times to see family that lives in Topeka. Since it is a newer HI Express, it is very modern decor. Always clean. Very friendly staff. Large rooms with comfortable bed and furniture. No complaints. Great stays!!!

“"It's well worth the trip"”

This is my second stay at this newer property. I was in town for a business meeting that was being held downtown at a much older chain hotel. My instincts told me that I couldn't possibly stay there. I guess I like the older slogan that Holiday Inn used back in the '80's and early '90's, which was "The best surprise is no surprise". And, for the most part, I have found that to be true at nearly every one of their locations that I have trusted. This hotel smells clean, looks clean, and has a great breakfast bar! Rooms are big, and have everything you need. Definately will be back next year.
Room Tip: Always ask for an upgrade if you are a Priority Club member. Southside rooms may be a little quieter, as front of hotel faces the highway.

“clean and well kept up.”

We were actually surprised that this hotel was as nice as it was considering the area didn't look all that great. I would recommend to anyone passing through Topeka, KS. The room was very large and clean, the staff was friendly and helpful and the beds were comfy. I wish I could have tried the pool and hot tub but our time was limited. There weren't many choices for the breakfast, but it was good. Check in and check out was easy and quick. All in all, a good hotel.
Room Tip: I'm not sure why we got the wheel chair accessible room, but I didn't mind because the bathroom was HUGE.
