“New, but not very nice”

The hotel was convenient when arriving from the north end of town, and very close to the main street through the center of town.
We were a bit dismayed that Priority Club members did not receive any perks, and we also did not get the first floor room we had requested.
We had a suite, but it was the smallest suite we had ever stayed in. ( most 2 Queen rooms we have stayed in were larger than this room ) The ceilings were extra tall which was totally unnecessary, and the rooms were too small. The bathroom was also small and the door opened in, which made it impossible for 2 people to be in the room at the same time.
Room temp. was impossible to adjust and the fan was very noisy.
Whatever you do Stay Away From The Pool!!!! It was extremely overchlorinated!! After a few minutes my family's eyes were burning so badly we had to leave and they hurt most of the night. There were several people who began coughing uncontrolably after swimming a few minutes. It was a horrible experience and a real letdown not to be able to enjoy the pool. The next morning you could smell a strong chlorine odor all the way down the hall.
The breakfast was the worst we've ever had at a Holiday Inn Express!! Usually, they're very good, but this was an exception. The eggs looked powdered and very unappetizing, biscuits were dry, gravy flavorless, cinnamon rolls were stale, muffins way too sweet. The bacon was unrecognizable. It was paper thin and the fat and meat were all the same color and see-thru. We also had to wait for hot items to even be brought out.
The only good thing about the place was that it was solidly built and very quiet.
